A BRIGHT start to 2021

The sale of one of the most outstanding properties on the market in Marbella and the granting of building licences for one of the most sought after developments have signalled a ‘Bright’ start to 2021.

While much of Europe is facing 2021 with uncertainty, two recent developments in the property market have underlined Marbella’s position as one of the top destinations in Europe for luxury property development.

Multi-award winning Villa Alcuzcuz was purchased at the beginning of the year. Designed by UDesign and developed by Bright, the property, an amazing tour de force of architecture, technology, environmental excellence and interior design, was the recipient of Best Architecture in Spain and Best Architecture in Europe awards from the International Property Awards. Villa Alcuzcuz is alsi Marbella’s first Passive House, the world’s most sought-after standard in energy efficient construction, quality and comfort, guaranteeing up to 75 percent saving on energy costs compared to a standard build.

Sebastian Jiménez, CEO of Aqua Estates, who brokered the sale of the property, commented: “Villa Alcuzcuz impressed me greatly when we first presented it. I’ve seen an awful lot of luxury villas but this was really unique, and I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. I was fully behind it from the beginning and knew it would be perfect for our client, whom we had been working with for a while. As the client wasn’t in Spain, and couldn’t come, we organised virtual tours, drone footage and in the end the purchase was made without his having ever physically visited the property.”

In a wider context, this important sale confirms recent property trends on the Costa del Sol. Demand for high-end properties in the area has been increasing steadily over the past year, despite the Covid-19 crisis, prompting more and more people to think of the beautiful climate and lifestyle of Marbella when considering the purchase of a luxury villa.

In addition to this significant sale, Bright also announced the granting of building licences for Vista Lago Residences. Destined to be one of the most sought after developments in southern Spain, Vista Lago Residences ( VISTA LAGO RESIDENCES – Your Marbella Haven ) – comprises of 18 sustainable luxury villas.

Andrew Lee, Sales Manager at Bright, commented The Bright team are proud to be developing Vista Lago in this outstanding area of Benahavís, following principles of environmental sustainability and remarkable contemporary architecture to create something we can all be proud of to be enjoyed for generations to come. And looking at the more immediate positive impact, at this complicated time, tens of millions of euros of international investment in the project and hundreds of direct and indirect jobs created are a fantastic boost to the local economy which depends greatly on projects of this nature.”
