The wonderfully atmospheric Villa Padierna amphitheatre at the Anantara Palace Hotel was the setting for a special evening of music, as internationally renowned tenor Massimo Giordano gave an intimate and superb performance.
Nelson Calzi, who had flown from La Scala in Milan especially for the performance, accompanied Massimo on the piano and the evening also featured talented soprano Ester Kandinova.
The music performed on the evening was specially chosen by Massimo and included arias by Verdi, Puccini and Rimsky Korsakov, and pieces from La Traviata and La Boheme among others.
The appreciative audience was captivated by the sublime performances with Massimo and Ester’s duets being particular highlights. And in true operatic tradition, the evening ended with several encores!
