Ambassador writes Brexit brief

The British Ambassador to Spain has written an open letter to British citizens living here on the subject of citizens rights as the UK prepares to leave the European Union.

In his letter, Simon Manley talks about the successful state visit of King Felipe in the UK earlier this month, and goes on to talk about the work the consular teams have undertaken across the country, and the proposals made by the UK Government.

He reiterates that citizens remain the top priority in the exit negotiations, and confirms a desire to provide people with an agreement that offers greater certainty about their future. The letter also reminds people that the UK is still currently a full member of the EU, meaning that rights have not changed for British citizens working and living in Spain.
