Firefighters worked through the night on the fire between Casares and Estepona.
INFOCA confirmed at 9am that the fire was still active and that 110 firefighters were tackling the blaze, many of them having worked through the night. AT 9.40am it announced that the fire had been brought under control
Five fire engines are also involved but INFOCA have reported that they will not be using aircraft, a sign that they are bringing the fire under control.
Further evidence came when the Junta de Andalucia deactivated its emergency plan to protect people and property this morning.
Fifty people spent the night in Casares after being evacuated from their homes yesterday.
