Marbella braced for more rain

Marbella is set for another weekend of bad weather. The Spanish Metrological Office (AEMET) has issued an Orange Alert for Malaga Province with heavy rain forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. The rain is forecast to start at 20.00 today. The alert is downgraded to Yellow for Monday. Last week also saw heavy rainfall in Marbella, with flooding in parts of the town. Food bank collection breaks records

Food bank charities across the country have said that they have passed their targets set for this year’s “Big collection”. Over 22 tonnes of food were donated last weekend, which will be sent to 56 food bank associations nationwide. The collections were made from  November 25-26, and is estimated they will help over 1.5 million people over the festive season.

Marbella experienced heavy rainfall yesterday, as Malaga Province was put on orange alert by AEMET, the Spanish Meteorological Agency. A heavy night of rain and storms brought flooding to the town as blocked drains were unable to cope, most notably on the Avda.
