Marbella has been placed on Red Alert for extreme rainfall Spanish Metrological Agency AEMET issued the warning of extreme weather until 9am, with between 50 and 150 mm of rain expected. Inland Alhaurin El Grande was hit by floods as 120 mm of rain fell in two hours. Under a Red alert, schools and colleges are closed, and all but vital travel is discouraged.
