Chemical Brothers confirm for La Cala!

Big Beat Electronic pioneers The Chemical Brothers are the latest act to confirm for this Septemeber inaugural Cala Mijas festival

Back together after a seven year sabbatical, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are bringing their long-awaited new show to the event, as well as anthems as ‘Galvanize’ or ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’.

Arctic Monkeys open the festival on September 1

Cala Mijas has also confirmed the running order. The opening day, Thursday September 1, is headlined by Arctic Monkeys, the band’s only Spanish concert this year. Also appearing on Thursday are the innovative pop artist, composer and producer Róisín Murphy, the indie-pop of Inhaler, the ambient electronics of Bonobo, Chet Faker, the multifaceted Marc Rebillet, Blossoms and The Lathums.

Kraftwerk are one of the headining acts

Friday sees The Chemical Brothers, as well as Kraftwerk, take to the stage. The Latin flavor will come from Bomba Estéreo and the Nathy Peluso. Soulwax, the dance music side project of turntable masters 2manyDjs, is also joining on September 2 as well as the duo formed by Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul with their debut album. They will share that day with the indietronica band Hot Chip and the German techno marching band MEUTE.

Liam Gallagher headlines the final day of Cala Mijas



The British frontman Liam Gallagher heads up the final day, while Norwegians Röyksopp make their long-awaited return to the stage after eight years of (almost) silence, and James Blake and Love of Lesbian are also highlights of Saturday September 3.
