Legendary climber Mallory was asked before his his fatal ascent of Everest why he wanted to climb the world’s highest mountain.
“Because it’s there” was his famous reply.
The group of experienced, not so experienced and total novice climbers who tackled Marbella’s iconic La Concha mountain on Sunday were, however doing it for a great cause.
More than 40 people of all ages and abilities set of to hike to the summit and were raising money for the Positively Pink and Positively Blue Cancer Screen Charity.
The group reached the summit of La Concha just in time for lunch, to take in the views and snap a huge group selfie, while photographer Gary Tapp shot some outstanding photo from his drone, which I will post in a later blog.
Huge thanks to Glenn, Henrietta and Rob for organising the event, and making sure that everyone got down the mountain safely.
And as promised, I got naked on the top of La Concha for charity, as the photo proves!
