Marbella bar and restaurant owners were able to breathe a slight sight of relief yesterday as the Junta de Andalucía announced the latest restrictions to halt the rise in coronavirus cases after the Easter holiday.
While large areas of Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Jaen were placed in levels 3 and 4 – where restrictions in some municipalities include a ban on non essential travel and bars and restaurants closing at 8pm – Malaga province, including the Costa del Sol, will remain at level 2.
The restrictions will be reviewed in seven days time, but at the moment bars and restaurants can remain open until 10.30pm
The current cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Marbella stands at 121,2 with 70 new cases in the past seven days.
Since the start of the pandemic, Marbella has reported 11,247 cases with 172 deaths.
