Finally some good news. Figures released today from the Junta de Andalucia report only two new cases of coronavirus – after none yesterday, and no Covid-19 related deaths in the past seven days.
A month after the Junta imposed restrictions that included the closure of non-essential businesses as well as those in the hospitality sector at 6pm, the level of cases has returned to the numbers last seen in July.
The latest figures report only two new cases in Marbella, with 1,014 active cases in the municipality. In total, Marbella has reported 4,446 cases in total, with 74 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic and 3,358 recovered patients.
The Junta de Andalucia is due to meet tomorrow to debate whether or not to relax the restrictions currently in place on the run up to Christmas.
