The President of the Junta de Andalucia, Juanma Moreno, announced over the weekend that the Junta’s committee of experts will meet on Monday to propose the mandatory use of masks throughout the autonomous community.
If approved, the measures will come into force in a period not exceeding 24 or 48 hours, and that this is considered “positive” to avoid possible further contagion.
Moreno also pointed out that in some municipalities a “tourismophobia” is developing due to visitors who do not properly follow the security measures, as well as a progressive relaxation in protective measures “To prevent the virus from running over us, we are going ahead,” he added.
Moreno added that Andalucia is a popular tourist destination that is visited by thousands of people and the Junta want to introduce the measures so that situations such as Catalonia or Aragon do not occur.
On Sunday 47 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Andalucia
