New rules regarding face masks came into force last night. And they are bad news if you were hoping to get an all over tan on the beach!
In an update on the State Bulletin (BoE), the new rules require the compulsary wearing of masks by everyone from six years and over, as well as in all public spaces, regardless of the distance between people. This update also requires you to wear a mask on the beach, even if you are on a socially distanced sunlounger!
Those who have a medical reason or have a disability are exempt from the new rules, while people exercising outside do not have to wear a mask.
During the 60s the Guardia Civil used to issue warnings and fines for wearing bikinis on the beach, and now it looks like they will be doing the same for not wearing masks.
So if you want to avoid adding mask lines or coronavirus fines to your tan this summer, I would advise tanning by your private pool, garden or terrace!
