It looks like another record breaking year for Spanish tourism, but surprisingly, fewer Brits are visiting Spain.
According to data released by the national statistics agency, the total number of international tourists arriving in Spain in May rose 1% compared to the year before,
In total, 8.1 million visitors came to Spain, with the majority – 24.6% – coming from the UK. The number of British visitors was down nearly 4%, however, compared to the year before.
German and French visitors made up a significant percentage of visitors as well. The Catalan region, the Balearics and the Canaries remained the main destinations for visitors.
