El Pimpi at Puente Romano

International screen idol and Malaga’s favourite son, Antonio Banderas, was at the Puente Romano Resort yesterday to launch El Pimpi Marbella

Alomg with co-owner Elena Cobos, Pimpi Marbella marks the expansion of the famous bodega in Malaga. Antonio was joined at the event by Puente Romano owner Daniel Shamoon and mayor, Ángeles Muñoz,and the great and the good of Marbella’s media scene. Which is presumably why I didn’t get an invite.

A render of El Pimpi Marbella shows what they describe as “the charm of the original El Pimpi Malaga, with emblematic wine barrels stacked under arches, handmade azulejos tiles, and vintage feria posters, but infuses each space with a fresh, cosmopolitan, Mediterranean vibrancy”.

Antonio commented that the new El Pimpi Marbella was a “beautiful project that begins its journey with great enthusiasm.”

El Pimpi Marbella joins other restaurants at the Puente Romano Resort including Nobu, Gaia and Coya.
