Euro 2016 kicks off in France tonight and it’s always great fun being in Marbella during a major football tournament.
With so many nationalities living here it seems that everyone has a match at some point.
So if you want to follow your national team, here are Planet Marbella’s suggestions
If you are going to watch England in Puerto Banus, then Linekers is a must. Lina and her team always decorate the bar and the atmosphere is always crazy on match day. Be warned. It’s always lively!
Great sports bar just across from the H10 Andalucia Plaza with a big terrace and loads of screens inside. Park Lane is also next door to Gio’s restaurant which does a superb big boy breakfast if you’ve overdone it the night before…
La Sala in Banus is a popular hang out for Premiership footballers (ex Spurs and England player David Bentley is one of the owners) so both the restaurant and La Sala by the Sea are both excellent places to watch the action and indulge in a little star spotting!
Irish hospitality is guarenteed at Slaite and with over 30 widescreen TVs, a great menu and a rooftop terrace, it’s bound to be popular. Plus there´s a creche for the little ones. Result!
A firm favourite in Marbella, Frango’s (close to Marbella’s municpal market) is going to be a great place to follow Spain (everyone’s second team) as well as enjoy some superb chicken and meat dishes. It’s made-for-watching football food!
Republic of Ireland fans will be flocking to The Hoganstand. Located on San Pedro’s Boulevard, the friendly bar and restaurant has plenty of big screens, great food and ice cold Guiness. What’s not to love???
