The Festive Season got well and truly underway on Friday as both Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara officially turned on their Christmas lights.
Marbella also marked the inauguration with a parade and free flamenco concert, as well as a Christmas choir, while singer María José Santiago performed in San Pedro.
The Christmas lights were turned on a week later than normal this year, due to the energy crisis prompted by the invasion of Ukraine.
The Christmas turn on , however, was a turn off for many in Marbella, as the Avda. Ricardo Soriano was closed for the ceremony, and there were also reports of large traffic jams after the event.
Marbella mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, was present at the festivities and used the opportunity to encourage people to visit the installations, which will run until January 8.
