Marbella will be buzzing with actors, directors, producers and other movers and shakers from the movie world as the Marbella International Film Festival get underway today.

Now in its 17th year, the Festival, which runs from October 5-9 will showcase more than 30 films, some of them world premieres, at the Red Dog Cinemas in Puerto Banus. The includer shorts, feature films and documentaries, and the films will be screened in their original version with English and Spanish subtitles.

Marbella International Film Festival will be screening films from countries including the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, Ukraine, Brazil, Georgia, Honduras, China and South Korea, while actors including Kevin McNally, Nicole Faraday, Terry Stone and Emily Wyatt are due to attend.
In addition to the film screenings, the Marbella International Film Festival has a number of events scheduled to take place at the Red Dog Cinemas, including tonight’s opening ceremony on October 6; a cultural event on October 6 dedicated to promoting and supporting Ukrainian cinema and culture, which will screen Ukrainian films and is also aimed at charities on the Costa del Sol supporting refugee associations, as well as two Red Carpet premiere screenings; “The Last Heist”, on Friday, October 7 and the documentary “25 years of UK Garage” on Saturday, October 8.

At a Press Conference During to present the event, Jorge Martín, operations director of Red Dog Cinemas, stressed the importance of Marbella hosting this type of cultural event with an international image and highlighted that that Red Dog Cinema has been collaborating with this festival for years.
For his part, Mac Chakaveh, director of the Marbella International Film Festival, thanked the support of Red Dog Cinemas, Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, as well as actors, actresses, producers and directors from different parts of the world
