Kalma & Kaos bring high end style to Cancelada

Last week Magna Spain officially inaugurated Kalma & Kaos a new restaurant located close to the up and coming area of Cancelada, which encompasses the union of two types of cuisine, Japanese and Mediterranean.

The official opening marks an investment of more than two million euros by the group. The modern three-storey building occupies over 900 sq. metres and features a large garden.

Kalma & Kaos is the result of Magna Spain spotting a gap in the market in the area between San Pedro de Alcántara and Estepona. Several new developments have been completed in the past few months, and the group recognised a lack of high quality restaurants nearby.

“We realised that the area lacked a quality leisure and restaurant venue in accordance to the recent growth in high income residents” said Francesc Solé, Co-Ceo of Magna Spain. “The aim is to provide the area with a high quality service and with a multidisciplinary event venue, with different spaces and outdoor areas”.
More than 400 guests enjoyed the beautiful settiong, live music and a selection of dishes from both menus. The event was attended by the Solé brothers, CEOs of the Magna Spain group together with José María García Urbano, mayor of Estepona.

The restaurant, which opened its doors in May 2023, has created 38 new local jobs, bringing the total number of jobs in the group to 95. The group currently has three restaurants (Kalma & Kaos, Vovem and Magna Café), as well as the nine-hole golf course Magna Marbella Golf and three other lines of business dedicated to construction, development and real estate.

The restaurant allows different areas to be closed off to create exclusive spaces for any type of event. With a capacity for up to 400 diners, the restaurant has a central kitchen that serves both floors. Kalma has its own bar manager, where the sushi preparation is concentrated. The distribution of diners is divided into of 220 on the ground floor, where Kaos is located, 100 on the first floor where the Japanese restaurant, Kalma, is located and around 40 people on the roof top terrace

Open every day from 1pm noon to 11pm at night, the restaurants offer two interesting and varied menus, including dishes such as the ‘brioche of red tuna tartar and citric avocado cream’ or the ‘lemon fish tiradito with Ponzu sauce, truffle and crunchy tempura’ stand out. Also in high demand are the ‘carabinero croquettes’ or the ‘Wagyu Brisket rice’, among others..

Kalma & Kaos is available as a versatile and multidisciplinary space, with live music and a variety of shows, as well as the possibility of renting it for all kinds of events. Francesc Solé stated, “with the intention of continuing to revolutionise the restaurant industry, we have created a new meeting place where leisure and gastronomy go hand in hand in an area with great potential”.
