Malaga ups security after Berlin tragedy

Malaga City Council has announced that it will be improving security in public areas followingMonday’s terrorist attack in Berlin.

Metal bollards are to be installed at the entrance to Calle Cortina del Muelle as well as at strategic points across the city.

The works come after the department of the interior asked local municipalities to start installing protection against lorry attacks like those in the German capital or Nice.

Christmas is one of Malaga’s busiest periods, with many thousands coming to the city to view the Christmas lights

Yesterday Marbella Town Hall observed a minute’s silence for the victims of the Berlin attack.

The Town Hall’s Blanca Fernández, has expressed  “regret and consternation” over the new terrorist attack in Europe and called for  “a global change that guarantees a more just and peaceful world”.
