Marbella FC marks worst season ever with double relegation

In the end, even a 3-0 victory in the final match couldn’t save the team.

Marbella FC, which only ten months ago was contesting the playoff for promotion to the Second Division and last year presented glitzy new plans for an 18,000 seater stadium, slumped into the fifth category of Spanish football on Sunday.

The double relegation to the 3rd RFEF markes the worst season in Marbella FC’s history. The match was also marred by the collapse of some of the seating at the stadium, which slightly injured two spectators.

Marbella FC’s campaign has been an absolute failure. Even the signing of former La Liga players has been able to halt the team’s decline, and the supporters are putting the blame squarely on Madrid management company Best of You.
