The Mayor inspects the shipment of aid

Marbella receives over 12,000 kilos of aid from the UAE

Marbella Town Hall has pledged to distribute over 900,000 masks among local groups, educational centres and residences after receiving a new donation from the United Arab Emirates of 12,500 kilos of aid including masks, gloves and other materials against Covid-19.

The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, yesterday inspected the shipment at the Palacio de Congresos Adolfo Suárez and said that the items would be “distributed free of charge to the population, vulnerable groups and those who continue to work on the front line against pandemic “.

The first step will be the distribution of 350,000 masks to all those over 60 officially registered in the municipality.

“This is one more example of the link and the close relationship that the United Arab Emirates has with Marbella” underlined Muñoz who thanked the “great effort and work” in the cooperation between the town and the UAE.

Last May the UAE sent more than 18,000 kilos of material to Marbella . “For the distribution of the new shipment we will follow the same criteria as in the previous time,” said the mayor, who has pointed out that “we will make kits of ten masks and send them to the homes of each of the 35,000 60-year-olds registered in our town”.
