Marbella recognises ‘Honorary Citizens’

A year later than scheduled due to the pandemic, Marbella City Council finally recognised the individuals who have made outstanding contributions to life in Marbella.

The awards ceremony took place over the weekend

Mayor Ángeles Muñoz praised the 16 people “for their values ​​and for contributing to making Marbella a better city”.

“Throughout their careers they have demonstrated values ​​such as generosity, solidarity and extraordinary professionalism, in addition to having built stories of success and kindness”, the mayor said at the ceremony, held last weekend at the Adolfo Suárez Congress Centre, and added that “the city would not be the same without them.”

The event, which should have been held last year but was impossible due to the pandemic, was attended by the award-winners Jaime Molina, Fausto Martínez, Victoria Rhodes, Manuel Sánchez Requena, Javier García Alegría, María Remedios Nieto Palacios, Francisco Puya García , Andrés Lanza Fernández, Pilar Rodríguez Cordón, Antonio Jiménez Rubiales, Leonardo Llorente Esteban, Juan José Carmona, Diego Reina Losada, José Antonio Góméz, Gutiérrez and the families of Miguel Guerra Gil and Miguel Medinilla García, who received the distinction posthumously .
