Glenn Ward, founder of Beach Fit Boot Camps and all around action man, tells us what makes Marbella special!
The best view in Marbella is without doubt from the top of La Concha, you can see the whole coast and even Africa on a clear day.
Best Place for coffee?
Anywhere that has a terrace and is peaceful. I don’t really like the busy spots as things can take too much time and I prefer a nice quiet place, maybe by the seafront or on a golf course.
Best place for eating?
Too many places to choose from, for casual dining I love The Boardwalk in Marbella. If I am going somewhere a little more fancy I would say any of Dani Garcia’s restaurants in Puente Romano.
Best place to show visitors the real Marbella?
That’s easy, take them to Marbella centro to have a look around the shops, stop for a fish lunch by the beach at a chiringuito, more shopping up in the old town and then finish off at a typical Spanish restaurant .
Best quiet moments
At home chilling on my balcony overlooking the Istan lake with my wife, dogs and cats.
For the lively ones?
As the shy retiring type (!!!!!), I could only imagine that Puerto Banus would be the one. Apparently Sisu Pool Parties are epic during the day, and the evenings it would be Seven in Banus, followed by either Funky Buddha or Olivia Valere. If I was going partying with my wife then I would look to go to Puente Romano for food followed by Suite.
I couldn’t live without?
I couldn’t live without my family and friends in Marbella. I’ve got a small circle of close friends and family now and I’m extremely happy with my life with them all.
Love it or hate it, La Cañada has everything you need and want, just avoid it at busy times.
Marbella is very unique with the people, its location at the bottom of Europe between the mountains and sea, its climate and its wealthy and not so wealthy. Everyone is welcome here and this place can be enjoyed by everyone, but what makes Marbella for me is the adventures you can have here – you can SUP, canoe, boat or anything else in the sea or you can climb, walk and cycle through the mountains and even ski and snowboard in Sierra Nevada
