The “Quality Tourism” debate rumbles on

In a meeting with Tourism Minister Alvaro Nadal, Marbella mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has proposed that Marbella be a permanent venue for an international debate forum on quality tourism.

Muñoz also plans to bring up the initiative next week during a meeting with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Asián.

At the first meeting of the Permanent Commission of the Forum for Innovation and Tourism Promotion, Muñoz underlined that “we are in a country that is a leader in tourism and we believe that Marbella can be the main image that the ministry uses”.

Muñoz also stressed that the initiative had the full backing of the Junta de Andalucía and the the Town Hall would appoint a Director General of Tourism. “Our intention is to enhance the synergy between the public administration and the private sector in the tourism sector, and for this reason, we want the appointment of a figure who will act as a go between the two sides”.
