It looks like Marbella has finally had enough of Reality TV
The Marbella Film Office confirmed yesterday that MTV’s programme ‘Super Shore’ had been barred from shooting in Puerto Banus and Marbella. The decision comes after the Reality TV show, which goes out on MTV España, was spotted filming in various locations in Marbella without the producers seeking the permission of the Town Hall.
In a statement the Marbela Film Office stressed that one of its main objectives was to take care to maximize the image of the resort in the media. Programmes such as “Super Shore” degraded the image of the cities in which they film as they only focus on “debauchery, alcohol and parties.”
The producers claim that they don’t need permits because they are only filming in bars, clubs and private property.
Marbella Film Office believes that this type of programme is totally against the philosophy department, which aims to nurture and promote the good image of Marbella, both in Spain and abroad, It also reminded the Super Shore producers that filming on public roads without permits was also prohibited, and that they might take legal action as appropriate.
After the chaos that The Only Way is Essex caused on its last visit, which included a nighclub stabbing, could this the beginning of the end for Reality TV shows in “Marbs”?
