Wednesday is the dia espectador at the Cine Goya Puerto Banus with all tickets at €4.50, so it’s the perfect chance to catch up with the movie that is being tipped to make off with most of the Oscars this year.
The Revenant, starring Leonardo Dicaprio is the story of a a frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s who fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
The shoot and its production was dogged by problems for the production crew because of the harsh venues used for filming.
The hardship was worth it though, as The Revenant came out a big winner at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) film awards, last Sunday night, winning five awards.
The Revenant was named top film and garnered awards for Alejandro G Inarritu who was named best director and Leonardo Dicaprio as best actor. It also led the awards for cinematography and sound.
Having cleaned up at the Golden Globes, Oscar success seems certain.
Showing today and tomorrow at 6pm
