Marbella launched a mayor crackdown on fake goods last week
Policia Local officers seized a total of 654 counterfeit goods at five stalls at the popular Saturday market next to the Bullring in Nueva Andalucia.
The operation took place last week, following allegations received from the legal representative of one of the brands being counterfeited. Eight plainclothes agents and four uniformed officers checked on the goods. The five stall holders, three Moroccan and two from Senegal, were charged with selling counterfeit goods, which were then confiscated.
In the past three months, the Policia Local have confiscated 4194 items and arrested 13 people to prevent this type of crime.
