For the second year in a row, Marbella’s beaches will be off limits tonight for the traditional Noche de San Juan celebrations
The continuing pandemic has lead to Marbella Town Hall cancelling the bonfires, with beaches closed to the public between 00:00 to 6:00 as a measure against Covid-19.
The only people allowed on the sandwill be fishermen who have the correct licences.
Large crowds traditionally gather for Noche de San Juan, leaping over bonfires and taking a midnight dip in the Mediterranean to cleanse their sins and bring good luck.
The one positive of the cancelation of San Juan celebrations this year however, is that at least Marbella’s beaches will be spared the huge amount of rubbish that is normally left by careless revellers (aka San Juankers)…
