Rugby World Cup fever has gripped Planet Marbella this month and I was spotted watching the England v Wales match last weekend down at the Trocadero Marbella Rugby Club last weekend, where my old England shirt was the subject of much mirth, though not as much as the England defeat.
Trocadero Marbella Rugby Club is showing most of the World Cup matches on a big screen in the clubhouse, and England’s do-or-die clash with Australia at 9pm this Saturday should have a cracking atmosphere.
This weekend also marks the start of Trocadero Marbella Rugby Club’s season with a home match against CR Arlequines Miguelturra from Ciudad Real at 13.00 on Sunday October 4. In its 25 years, Marbella has performed superbly, winning national championships at under 18 level and several of the youth team players have gone on to represent Spain at international level.
The atmosphere at Trocadero Marbella Rugby Club is very family orientated and open to all, as well as having a great clubhouse and bar, a vital part of every rugby club. Trocadero Marbella Rugby Club training for the under 18 age groups (there are several youth teams for all ages) takes place every Saturday.
