National Police have made a second arrest after the Sunday night shooting at Opium Beach Club that left four people injured
This follows the release of the first suspect, who was yesterday discharged from hospital after suffering knife wounds.
The investigation continues to try to clarify the events that took place this past morning at Opium Beach Club, on the Pinillo beach in Marbella.The shooting took place after a fight brought out in the VIP zone, as Froilán, nephew of King Felipe VI, was also celebrating his birthday.
Social Media showed party goers diving for cover while others fled the scene. More images apparently show a man reaching for a hand gun.
One eyewitness criticised the security and organisation for the event, where Black Coffee was billed to perform. “It was horrendous, people were running and falling. It was the worst organised event ever” she said “No tickets were scanned, people with tickets had to queue for an hour and people with VIP tables were made a proirity”
Ploice made the second arrest , a 26-year-old man, on Monday afternoon.
Two of the others injured have also been discharged , an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to the left hip and a 36-year-old with a gunshot wound to the back.
Two victims of the shooting reamain in the Hospital Costa del Sol in intensive care.; a 32-year-old Irish man with a chest wound and a 32-year-old woman, with an injury to the abdominal and pelvic area.
