It’s official. Records for visitor numbers to the region for this year have been smashed!
6.7 million visitors came to the Costa del Sol this summer, the highest number in recorded history.
Over €6.7bn is believed to have been spent in the local economy, a huge boost for the financial situation in Spain.
This year has already seen an increase of 6.5% of visitors, with good weather expecting to bring even more visitors to the area before the end of the year.
Airport authorities have also said that they handled over 3.7m passengers this year already, a significant rise on 2015.
