The hottest player in European football, Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, was in Marbella earlier this week.
Haaland, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Liverpool, trained in Marbella with the rest of the Norwegian national team ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar and Turkey.
Marbella mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, took the opportunity to visit the team at their training camp, and presented Haaland with a Marbella FC shirt.
Muñoz underlined that Marbella was an attractive venue for “training for the most important clubs and national teams in the world. The first-class facilities in Marbella, of both sports and hotels, continue to attract the best teams,” said the mayor, who mentioned the ” outstanding commitment that we are making to associate Marbella with elite sport, without forgetting our own teams ”.
With Marbella FC currently in free fall down the Spanish league, Muñoz must have wished that she could have convinced the star striker to help out for a couple of games!
