Iranian documentary ‘Alone among the Taliban’ directed by Mohsen Eslamzadeh, is due to be screened at the Marbella Internation Film Festival in October.
‘Alone among the Taliban’, a 65-mintue documentary by Mohsen Eslamzadeh, depicts the director’s 15 days of tense and dread-filled experience among members of Taliban militant group in Afghanistan who were armed to the teeth, and with whom Iran carries a dark history after the 1998 attack on the Iranian consulate in Mazar Sharif and the subsequent assassination of 11 Iranian diplomats.
The documentary was first screened in the ninth edition of Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival ‘Cinéma Vérité’ in 2015, and won the International Shahid Avini Award for the Best Mid-Length Documentary. Eslamzadeh’s production will enjoy its seventh international screening at the Marbella film festival following its participation in other festivals in US, Egypt and Russia. It has also won Best Documentary Award at the 44th Athens International Film and Video Festival (AIFVF) in April 2017.
The Marbella International Film Festival takes place between October 4-8.
