That was the weekend that was – Cala Mijas Festival rocks the coast!

“If you build it, they will come” And come they did with a total of 107,000 people across the three days, making the first International Cala Mijas Festival an unqualified success.

The combination of high-quality music, the sun, and the beach resulted in a fantastic atmosphere over the three days.

Arctic Monkeys

It was also proof that the coast can attract major acts, with iconic talents such as Arctic Monkeys, Start as you mean to go on! – Arctic Monkeys storm Cala Mijas Festival Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, Nathy Peluso, and Bomba Estéreo. The festival that has brought together the rock and electronic music faithful, die-hard pop fans, and urban music enthusiasts. Cala Mijas: a space for everything and everyone.

The last day of Cala Mijas on Saturday was memorable thanks to the exciting performances from great icons of rock, pop, electronic, and Latin music. The Sunrise stage closed its last day with artists including Liam Gallagher – who had flow over directly from his opening performance at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in London – the explosive and groundbreaking Nathy Peluso taking the crowd by storm.

The great news is that Cala International Mijas Festival will return in 2023, and is set to be held between August 31 – September 2.
