They’re Back…

The use of face masks in health centres or hospitals is now mandatory, following a rise in flu, Covid-19 and Respiratory syncytial virus cases.

Health Minister – Monica Garcia – defended the measure after a number of regions opposed the mandatory approach to mask enforcement – even though medical bodies supported the action.

The health ministry ordered wearing a mask in hospitals and healthcare centres and recommended masks in private clinics, pharmacies and other medical facilities such as dentist’s.

Several regions had already ordered patients, visitors and staff at hospitals to wear masks last week.

Those entering a health centre or hospital will be required to wear a mask until they leave, with the rules in place for the next few weeks.
