Three men were arrested last night after a high speed police chase from Mijas to Cancelada, and then back to Calahonda!

Police were alerted at 11.30 last night as a car was spotted travelling at maximum speed along the A-7. The driver made a series of highly dangerous moves, including ‘undertaking’ other vechicles, before leaving the road at Cancelada.

He ignored the orders to stop by police units waiting for him at Cancelada, and rejoined the A-7, heading back towards Malaga at high speed.

Unaware that he was being monitored by a police helicopter, the occupants fled and finally abandoned the car in Calahonda, where they calmly continued on foot.

Minutes later they were intercepted by officers, who found €6.845 in cash in their bags.

The men, aged between 26-32, have been remanded in custody
