Marbella’s Paseo Maritimo, battered after last weekend’s floods, is undergoing urgent and immediate repairs
More than 300 tons of albero – the yellow foundation that paves the paseo – has been replaced by 120 workers, as Marbella comes to terms with the damage caused.
The Mayor of Marbella, José Bernal, visited the Casablanca area with Councilor for Public Works, Blanca Fernández, and urged the central government in Madrid “to make the same effort as the Town Hall so that the beaches of the municipality are in optimum condition”.
The Mayor stressed that “we have waited absolutely no time to start working, acting first in those places where there have been the most serious incidents as has been the case of the Paseo Marítimo “
“We have faced losses of more than €20 million euros, which is four times the Town Hall’s annual investment budget” Bernal added. The Mayor has already appealed to central government for financial aid.
